The Sound Scanner is a cloud-based acoustic camera that allows for quick and easy localization of weaknesses in spaces with high acoustic demands. To achieve this, short sound impulses are emitted via a small speaker and captured using a rotating microphone probe. This allows not only the detection of unwanted echoes in reverberation but also their spatial distribution and visualization on a mobile device. In this way, the architect is able to promptly and efficiently help their clients with undestanding and resolving issues of "poor" room acoustics through efficient architectural changes.
